This outing showcases the history and culture of Mauritius through art, artifacts, its people.

The day will start with a morning ritual at a Hindu temple renowned by its vibrant architecture and colorful sculptures. Offerings such as flowers, incense are presented to the deities in the presence of the priest who will conduct the ceremony with precision to traditional practices.  

The second part in stroll mode, we show you around the Mauritian Capital “Mauritian style”. An immersion in a very lively city, we will pass by the vegetable market, and then stroll through the streets as the locals would do, on the lookout for small fruit merchants and local delicacies that showcase the island’s multicultural heritage. We’ll then make our way to a Chinese Pagoda which is operated by a local Chinese family. A place of worship but also serves as a center for cultural activities and community gatherings. You will appreciate its beauty , and learn about the traditions and customs of the Chinese Mauritian community.

Meeting point: Le Caudan waterfront at 09:30 am we will finish around 2p.m.

Suggested packing list: suncream, sunglasses, cap. Keep some cash to buy some souvenirs on the way.

What is included: offerings for temple, local food and drinks.
